Favorite Bible Passage
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. ~ Isaiah 61:1-3

Special memory from years at MLC
Four stories stand out at the forefront of my MLC experience, and I helped to tell all of them: “Big Fish,” in which I acted, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Mouse That Roared,” both of which I directed, and the story of our salvation, which I had the privilege to sing dozens and dozens of times with the College Choir. I have nothing but gratitude for all my fellow story tellers. As many times as these stories will leave my lips, they and you will never leave my heart.

Favorite class
Foundations of History – a historiography class that explores the difference approaches historians take, otherwise known as Professor Koelpin and Professor Baganz doing stand-up.

Words of wisdom for incoming students
If you are ever feeling overwhelmed, go to chapel and get a good night’s sleep. Life doesn’t work well when your body and soul aren’t working well.
